ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are searching for three people who tried to steal an ATM from the Royal Inn in Royal Oak Township while using a Dodge Durango.
Police say the three were wearing all dark clothing when they backed into the lobby of the motel. This included hats, masks, and gloves.
Officers say two suspects got out of the SUV and tried to lift the ATM into the vehicle. However, it was too heavy for them and they got back into the Durango and the third suspect drove off.
The front desk clerk suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment.
The Durango has been recovered by the Detroit Police Department.
Anyone with information on who the suspects might be is asked to all the MSP Metro North Post at 248-584-5740. You can also leave a tip through the MSP app.
