BRANDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Garrett Frezza coached hundreds of kids in gymnastics and cheerleading for two decades in the family’s gymnastics studio in Ortonville.
It is called GOB because it serves the communities of Grove, Ortonville and Brandon.
Paul Frezza started the family business in 1991 when his young daughter wanted to learn how to do cartwheels.
The Superintendent of Brandon Schools sent a letter to parents that said Garrett impacted the lives of hundreds of students over the years.
Garrett was hit while crossing M-15, the main road in Ortonville last night in the dark. He was wearing dark clothing and was hit and killed.
Paul says he ran the family business through some tough financial times a few years ago and within the last month when the cold weather caused a water pipe to burst and flood the gym.
He intends to turn the gym into a legacy to his son. Funeral plans are still being worked out.A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
