PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — Thirty-year-old Stevie Hutchins was charged Monday with Attempted Kidnapping and Child Enticement.
Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Hutchins Saturday following reports of the attempted abduction of a 3-year-old little girl in Pontiac near Woodward and East Auburn Road.
“The individual came up and tried to grab the child away," said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

The toddler was with her mother at the time of the incident. Bouchard said Hutchins attempted to grab the child twice, and only took off when a friend of the mother's pulled out some mace.
The mother then ran across the street to a liquor store to call 911, according to witnesses. The young family is seen on surveillance entering the liquor store following the attempt.
"You can tell from the footage they were scared. They were shaking," said Sam Toma, who works at Star liquor and party store.
The incident happened in broad daylight Saturday.
The child wasn't hurt during the attempt, but Sheriff Bouchard said this should serve as a reminder to parents.
“It’s unusual, but not something you should ever ignore. So stay close to your kids. Be aware of your and their surroundings," he said
Hutchins has a mental health order from Wayne County.
