THIS IS AN OLD STORY FROM 2013
----
Two Mount Morris Township men are locked up on one million dollars bond each for allegedly trying to rob and kidnap a woman from Great Lakes Crossing on Saturday.
Police say Edellis Alexander and Isaiah Herron confronted the 47-year-old Lake Orion woman shortly after noon. Officers say one of the men put a gun into the woman's back and pushed her toward her car, telling her to get in.
“Put a gun at her back and tried to force her into her car,” said Lt. Jill McDonnell at the Auburn Hills Police department.
Police say that's when the woman, who was determined not to go with the men, dropped to the ground and began screaming. Officers say the screams attracted the attention of an 18-year-old from Clinton Township who walked towards the men.
"She was hollering out that she was calling police, that she was on the phone with police… yelling for them to stop,” said Lt. McDonnell of the young good Samaritan.
This allowed the woman to escape. She did suffer some injuries in the assault.
Officers say Alexander and Herron fled the scene with the woman's keys and cell phone. They were arrested a short time later without incident. A gun was recovered during the arrest.
Both men have been arraigned on Armed Robbery, Carjacking, Attempt Unlawful Imprisonment, Receiving and Concealing a Firearm and Felon in Possession of a Firearm charges. They are locked up in the Oakland County Jail.
Police say the woman did the right thing in dropping to the ground and screaming. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call (248) 370-9444.
