4 people shot and killed in Livonia, suspect in custody

LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — Livonia police officials say four people have been shot and killed in the area of 7 Mile and Inkster roads, with one suspect in custody.

It happened around 5:35 p.m on Rensellor Street. Officials say there is no threat to the public. A weapon has also been recovered.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, a man exited a home with his hands raised and indicated that he had shot family members. He was then taken into custody.

First responders tried saving the victims, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say three of the victims were family members, as well as the suspect. The fourth victim was in a relationship with another victim, police said.

Additional details have not yet been released including what led up to the shooting.
