ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Thirty-nine-year old Darnell Moore is facing a maximum sentence of 15 years behind bars. Police are calling him a “predator” they were able to catch in 72 hours.

He’s accused of CSC in the 3rd degree, for allegedly victimizing a 67-year-old woman in Romulus.

Police say at 12:30 pm on June 30th, at an apartment on the 11,000 block of Wayne Road, Moore came to the door claiming he was with a company assisting seniors. Moments later, the sex assault allegedly took place.

Today, he was issued a bond of $500,000. He’ll appear in 2 weeks for a probable cause conference.

We’ve learned he also has a lengthy prior criminal history, for sex crimes and home invasion of which she was convicted.

A judge has also ordered him not to have contact with children, nor to use drugs or alcohol.

Moore had a “not guilty” plea entered on his behalf today. Police have not said why he was still out on the streets.
