OAK PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — Robert Boles, 55, remains hospitalized in critical condition after Oak Park police said he was shot at least five times by his son, a 22-year-old man who is also accused of murdering his 74-year-old grandmother.

The shootings happened Friday afternoon inside a home on Westhampton near Northend Avenue.

Police said the suspect's father managed to call 911 and told a dispatcher that his son shot him and his mother.

When Oak Park Police arrived at the house, they found Mary Boles dead in the den of her home. She had been shot six times.

Officers then heard someone calling for help from the basement and that's where they found Mary's son, Robert. He had been shot multiple times but he was still alive.

After the double shooting, the suspect, also named Robert Boles, went to Allen Park where he called 911 to report that he shot two people in Oak Park, according to police.

He was arrested and brought back to Oak Park police for questioning.

Police said the younger Boles confessed to shooting his father and his grandmother.

On Monday, he was arraigned on multiple charges including First Degree Murder (Premeditated) and attempted murder.

He's being held without bond.
